Terms of Service, Privacy Policy & Community Rules

Last updated: 7/29/2026

These terms are a legal agreement between you and QR-ious? ("QR-ious?", "we", "us"). By creating an account, scanning a member's code and continuing past a landing page, or otherwise using QR-ious?, you agree to everything below. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

1. Who can use QR-ious?

2. Parental / guardian consent (13–17)

If you are 13–17, a parent or legal guardian must complete the e-signature block at sign-up: their full legal name, email, and a checked consent box. Typing the parent/guardian's name in that field constitutes an electronic signature under the U.S. E-SIGN Act (15 U.S.C. §§ 7001 et seq.) and comparable state and international laws.

The parent/guardian certifies that (a) they are at least 18, (b) they are the child's parent or legal guardian, (c) they have read and agree to these terms on the child's behalf, and (d) they understand that content the minor posts is reviewed by an AI safety filter but may still be seen by other members and, depending on the account's visibility settings, the public. Parents may request account deletion or a copy of the child's data at any time by emailing TheQRiousapp@gmail.com.

3. AI content monitoring for teen accounts

Accounts flagged as minor (13–17 based on date of birth at signup) route all user-submitted text (posts, photo captions, business listings, comments) through an automated AI classifier before the content is saved. The classifier is designed to catch sexual content, nudity, self-harm, graphic violence, hate speech, harassment, illegal activity, drug/alcohol/tobacco/vape/weapon promotion, sharing of personal contact info, meet-up requests with strangers, grooming, and other content unsafe for minors. AI moderation is not perfect — it can over-block or miss things — and it does not replace parental supervision. Adults (18+) are not subject to automated pre-publication review, but all accounts are subject to the community rules below and to human review after reports.

4. Your account, your content

You keep ownership of the posts, photos, business listings, comments, and other content you submit ("Your Content"). You grant QR-ious? a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt (for resizing, cropping, and generating QR codes and thumbnails), and distribute Your Content solely to operate and improve the service and to display your profile to the visitors you've allowed via your visibility settings. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for backups already made and content others have reshared or referenced.

You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to Your Content and that it doesn't violate anyone else's rights or the law.

5. Community rules — what's not allowed

You may not post, promote, or use QR-ious? for any of the following:

Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban without notice or refund.

6. Payment links (Venmo, Cash App, LinkedIn, etc.)

Members can add links to third-party services including Venmo, Cash App, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat. QR-ious? does not process payments, hold funds, or act as a payment processor, escrow, marketplace, or party to any transaction. When you click a member's payment link, you leave QR-ious? and the transaction is governed entirely by that third-party service and its terms. QR-ious? is not responsible for the accuracy of any handle or link, for any transaction, or for any dispute arising from a payment.

7. Privacy — what we collect and how we use it

We collect only what we need to run your account:

Your personal information will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their marketing. We share data only with service providers strictly necessary to run QR-ious? (hosting, database, authentication, and — for minor accounts — an AI moderation API that receives your text content for safety classification), or when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of QR-ious?, our members, or the public.

Anything you post on your page is visible according to your visibility setting: Public (anyone with your link), Members-only (signed-in members), Private (approved followers only), or Ghost (hidden from everyone). Change it anytime in your dashboard.

8. Your privacy rights

You can view, edit, download, or delete your data at any time from your dashboard, or by emailing TheQRiousapp@gmail.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (for example, under GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, or similar laws), including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority.

9. Inactive accounts

If your account remains inactive for more than six months, it will be permanently deleted along with all of its content. We may email you a warning before deletion when we can.

10. Termination

You may delete your account any time from your dashboard. We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you've violated these terms, if required by law, or to protect the service or other members. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, licenses granted, disclaimers, limits of liability, dispute resolution) will survive.

11. Disclaimers

QR-ious? is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not endorse or vouch for members, their content, their businesses, or any transaction. AI moderation is a best-effort safety layer, not a guarantee.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, QR-ious? and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the service. Our total aggregate liability for any claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) US $100 or (b) the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless QR-ious? and its operators from any claim, damage, or expense (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the service, or your violation of these terms or of any law or third-party right.

14. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where the account operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute you have with QR-ious? that can't be resolved informally will be handled in the state or federal courts located in that state, and you consent to their exclusive jurisdiction and venue, except where applicable consumer-protection law says otherwise.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted on this page and, when practical, announced in-app or by email. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms. The date at the top shows the last update.
